About the campaign

Diabetes Australia developed the Take Diabetes 2 Heart campaign to raise awareness of the link between type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Research shows nearly two-thirds of people with type 2 diabetes don’t know heart disease is the number one cause of death for people with type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is the biggest health challenge facing Australia and heart disease is Australia’s leading cause of death. This campaign encourages people to have a heart-to-heart with their loved ones about their risks and to see their GP.
